About
CHAIN TERMS
Grade of Chain: NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers & ASTM (American Society for Test Materials) classify chains in various grades.
The higher the grade, the higher the working load limit for the same size of chain.
Working Load Limit (WLL): (rated capacity) Is the maximum working load that should be applied In direct tension to an undamaged straight length of chain.
Minimum Breaking Force: The minimum force at which the chain during manufacture has been found by testing to break when a constantly increasing force is applied in direct tension.
Breaking force values are not guarantees that all chain segments will endure these loads. This test is a manufacturers attribute acceptance test and SHALL NOT be used as criteria for service and design purpose.
Overload: Any static or dynamic load in excess of Working Load Limit
Overhead Lifting: The process of lifting that would elevate a freely suspended load to such a position that dropping a load would present a possibility of bodily injury or Property damage.
Sash chain is produced from a low carbon steel. This style chain has no Grade associated with it. Sash chain is a weldless style and is produced using a wire stamping machine.
Sash chain is also called Stamp Sash Chain or Flat Metal Chain. Sash Chain is NOT approved for overhead lifting.
All of our Sash Chain is Made in the USA. Sash chain can be supplied in finishes like, Self Color (or Raw Steel), Bright Galvanized, Bright Zinc, copper plate or Brass Plate.
The Sash chain can also be produced from other materials like: Stainless Steel or Solid Brass.
Sash chain is Suitable for suspension of double hung windows, double hung sash, pulley applications and other general utility applications.
All of our Sash Chain is tested in accordance with the NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) Certificates can be provided Please request at the time of order placement.
